The team conducted a research on the history of Balanghai Boat at Agusan National High School Library where they have gathered facts about the said topic. Due to insufficiency of data and the desire to have accurate information, the researchers went to Butuan City Library found at T. Calo Street.
The team also searched facts and information in the Internet sites such as www.balanghay-voyage.com which helped them fully understand the early beginnings of Balanghai boat.
The researchers also went to the Regional Tourism Office Region XIII and asked help on obtaining video clips, and interviewed some people who are knowledgeable of the history and origin of the balanghai boat. Sir William Aballe the Accountant of the Regional Tourism advised the researchers to go to Ambangan, Libertad where the first balangay boat was cultivated to site the place and make the study accurate.
After coming up with enough data, the team pursued their research by going to the National Shrine Museum located at Ambangan, Libertad Butuan City where some fossils and relics of Balanghay boat are kept and preserved. There, the researchers interviewed knowledgeable persons to corroborate like Mr. Mario Bonglay, the curator of the said museum and Mr. Greg Hontiveros, a local historian.
Moreover, the researchers went to Masao Butuan City to capture and shoot videos. Masao is a very significant place in this study since historians consider this place as the venue of the First Catholic Mass in the Philippines.
Finally, after gathering all data and input information, the team members collaborated to successfully fulfill the tasks with the help and advices of certain individuals.
The team worked hard with perseverance and patience in order to present a more objective, accurate and reliable research.
